Introduction

The Pacific Coast Watershed Partnership has completed over 175 projects in five priority watersheds in the past three years. The Skagit, Dungeness, Lower Columbia, Siuslaw, and Coquille basins were joined this year by a partnership in a sixth basin, the Umpqua in southern Oregon. The partnership now includes all National Forests with a significant amount of land in the coastal watersheds of Oregon and Washington. The PCWP, through support from the Forest Service, has funded $2.4 million dollars in restoration projects and have more than doubled that amount in matching funds.

Restoration and Partnership Highlights:

  • Restored 12,300 acres of key wetlands, estuaries, riparian areas, and upland habitats
  • Completed 175 projects in 5 priority watersheds
  • One partnership is in the top five finalists for a prestigious international watershed award
  • New "C-to-C" vision and mission
  • Coordinator hired to raise partnership support and to assist regional and watershed-level partners at the landscape scale
